So Trump's saying out loud one of the threats I've always assumed the USA issues to countries that refuse to do its bidding - usually that bidding is cheap access to resources or allowing the US to build military bases on their territory or invading/blcokading whoever the US tells it to. On the one had actually saying it in public is kind of a breath of fresh air. OTOH it might push the rest of the world to develop a joint spine. Meanwhile Trump has actually said out loud that the war against Gaza was about ethnic cleansing. (OK, he said "cleaning", not "cleansing".) It was excruciating watching the Biden government pretend not to know.

I wonder how well that went down with those who lost everything or even with those who struggled and are still struggling with the financial insecurity they were left with?
