In real life, one person (or country in this case) taking a stand against a bully rarely works. What does work is when everyone takes a stand together.

@ Perhaps if you also included the EU. However it's very problematic. The US has military bases in Canada, Australia, the EU, and the UK. They won't leave voluntarily.
3
The other problem is that the USA actually has military bases in Europe. Also, your assumption that European countries don't want to conquer Russia is pretty questionable. Historically it has been tried again and again and the EU has been complicit with the USA in taking NATO to the border of Russia. Unfortunately I have the feeling that the EU wants to become a Power. Who exactly is "Europe" "defending" against?
2
You might want to think about what the United States did to the last states that seceded.
2
What a truly dreadful country the United States is. What it has enabled against the Palestinians is sickening. Calling what it is doing to Ukraine "support for Ukraine" is sickening. What it is doing to Russia is sickening.
2
@jimgraham6722 Oh, nonsense. There hasn't been a single Australian prime minister of either party that hasn't invaded whoever the US told it to. Usually small countries on the other side of the world such as Vietnam or Iraq.
1
Yeah? What's the EU doing to help with the American threats against Denmark? What did the EU do when America told European countries to join in the Iraq invasion? What did the EU do when America told it to advance eastwards to the Russian border? The EU is a collection of American vassal states.
1
What goes around, comes around. How many countries has Canada invaded or imposed economic sanctions on because the US told it too? You thought you were buying Protection by taking the lives and livelihoods from people in other countries. Diddums.
1
The USA cannot endure a simultaneous trade war with everybody else. The time has come for the rest of the world to choose. Continue to capitulate to the US one by one? (Whether the face-saving way, under a pretense of vassal states being allies, or the up-front way, under a public "or else" threat. ) Or make a united stand for self-determination and sovereignty? Does the EU serve any real practical purpose or will it hang Denmark out to dry? And what about Canada, Panama, and, really, everyone else? Because whatever country you are ... chances are you're next. In fact you've probably already had a turn, or several turns.
1
Yeah? Look what the United States did to the last states that seceded.
1
@ 1860 and 1861. The US devastated those states totally and forced them to become part of the US again.
1
Let's be real here. Canada killed foreigners overseas, and imposed economic hardship on foreign countries, because it thought it was buying itself Protection. Protection from the US at least as much as protection by the US. Oh dear.
1
@johnpatterson4770 How disgraceful. What had the Vietnamese ever done to Canada? Your politicians though they were buying Protection by killing people in other countries at the say-so of the USA. Now you're finding out they were mistaken.
1
No, you don't stand with Canada and Denmark. The UK is a vassal state of America that does whatever America tells it to.
1
You've got it back to front. Americans are paying huge money for recreational and destructive drugs and that is funding absolute misery in the countries whose drug lords only exist because of that money.
1
@ What difference does it make? Provided absolutely enormous amounts of money are available to buy recreational drugs, they will be provided from somewhere. It might be possible to change the type of drug and where it's manufactured, but so what? The only real solution is to stop buying those drugs. The supply will dry up overnight. It's not rocket science.
1
@fuku35 Yep, him too. But don't worry - America is still feared and that's what it cares about.

This narrative about an aggressive Russia is just insane. It is NATO that has been inexorably movin towards Russia, not the other way around. Now you're talking about sending European troops to the border of Russia. WHY does Britain have to send troops against Russia and match France in military power? It's certainly not about defending Britain. Neither Europe nor Russia is going to attack Britain militarily. Probably not the USA either, unless Britain discovers some minerals it wants.
