Only weeks ago the US government was still pretending that it didn't know that Israel's massacres in Gaza were about fast-tracking its plan for further ethnic cleansing. Although it's repulsive to watch Trump negotiate for his personal share of the spoils on public television, it was no less repulsive watching the Biden administration pretending it wasn't happening while enabling it.

Both the US and Zelensky knew this before he started talking about joining the EU and NATO. Russia was never going to allow US controlled bases in Ukraine without a fight, or even a US controlled economy, regardless of who was in charge. But pushing towards this when that person was Putin was inevitably going to result in a particularly brutal and ruthless war. Both the US and Zelensky were well aware of Putin's track record in advance. From where I stand Zelensky looks like a zealot who has basically been used.

I just saw an MSNBC clip of Joe Biden saying he holds Iran responsible for the recent killing of the three American SOLDIERS at a US military base near the Iran border because Iran supplied the weapons to the people who did it. That must the the closest he's come to admitting responsibility for the 10 THOUSAND times more deaths of the CIVILIANS recently killed by Israel in Gaza.

  32. The timeline of this report is a bit odd. It starts at the morning of Oct 7. In the year before that, how many Palestinians were killed by Israelis? How many of them were children? How many Palestinian homes were burnt to the ground by Israeli terrorists backed by the government of Israel? What about in the decade before that? Comparison with 9/11 is absurd. Americans conflate their own ignorance with innocence; hence their confusion and surprise at retaliation.Compounded of course by the feeling of invulnerability on their own soil. Israelis are not ignorant of their own history so any surprise they feel is totally down to their sense of just how much they have the upper hand militarily.
