Where does this odd idea that Netanyahu is ignoring the US come from? Yes, he's not acting in accordance with US government statements to its public. Hardly the same thing.

In the 1950s the Iranians had no religious overlords. Then the US decided to overturn their democratically government and replace it with a dictator who provided them with cheaper access to oil. The only group who were able to get enough people together to overturn him decades later was the mullahs ... of whom a faction moved into the ensuing vacuum.

In case you haven't noticed, there is already a two-state solution with the Mexicans. And the US is not moving in settlers to Mexico and then claiming it has to defend them so it needs to expand its territory. Yet, anyway ... I believe someone (Trump) proposed taking over Mexico.

That doesn't really stand up to scrutiny. Jews have also lived in England for over 2,000 years. And yet, should there be a decision for huge numbers of Jews to go to England with the express purpose of establishing a Jewish state there by force, that would be colonization. And Chistians have lived in the Middle East for over 2,00 yeras, And yet, etc. Yes, some jews emigrated to Israel in response to WW2. But other Zionist Jews emigrated there earlier with the express purpose of establishing a Jewish state by force. Furthermore, the vast majority were American or European citizens who established their colony in collusion with the US and UK governments.

@jmhorange I take your point. It's just hat ... I don't really think BB makes the US look weak to other countries. Because other countries know that the US stuff about cease-fires is rhetoric for home consumption and the US doesn't mean it anyway. Not seriously. Maybe they'd like a very-short-term cease-fire or two for home consumption reasons all things being equal, but that's about it.

@Bvi9169 I am probably being dense but I don't follow your meaning. In particular I don't understand what regime change in Iran has to do with Netanyahu, or by what mechanism you propose they should implement it. I think you might be suggesting that they have a quick civil war and install a regime that Netanyahu approves of? Or that the current regime resigns in favour of a group that Netanyahu approves? The chances of either of those things happening is infinitesimal. Or perhaps they install a US approved regime to prevent the US attacking them? That's a big ask - wouldn't a simpler way of preventing WW3 would be for the US to decide not to participate?

@Bvi9169 Yes, I thought I must have missed your meaning. With respect I couldn't disagree more. Regardless of its shameful beginning and ongoing acts of terror, Israel is a sovereign country. Its government is its own business. All the world needs the US to do is to stop colluding with and enabling Israel's civilian massacres and land theft.

Who knows why the US is colluding with genocide? It could be guilt. Personally I believe that Israel is a foundation block in its strategy to control Middle-Eastern oil. So far the death toll has been infinitesimal. Unless you count people who are not US citizens. Which the US never has and never will.
