Bernie Sanders "Netanyahu’s right wing government is blocking the borders and preventing the massive amount of aid that needs to get through from getting through and people are dying as a result. That is in violation of American law. We should stop funding Netanyahu’s war machine." That's as good as it gets in the US government. Words. And as far as ceasing to ARM the Israeli war machine there isn't even words. Furthermore Bernie Sanders in an interview on MSNBC says that Israel is breaking the law. But the law he goes on to reference is Section 201 of The Foreign Assistance Act, which "makes it clear that any country which interferes with the provision of US humanitarian aid will not get funding from the United States of America." In other words, it is an AMERICAN act which applies to the US government. It has no standing in Israel. It is the US government itself that is breaking its own law, not Israel.

  3. Basically The Pier makes no sense except as a propaganda exercise; even then the only Americans it will fool are those who want to be fooled. I suppose it might give the US a kind of veneer of respectability that US allies could pretend not to see through if it suits them.

  4. I just heard an American politician on the radio saying they can't support an offensive in Rafah unless there are credible plans to protect civilians in Rafah. However he is out and out lying. Because they are continuing to supply arms and money for the offensive.

  5. Why on earth would Palestinians be more angry about a propaganda exercise than they are about the US arming, financing, and providing political and military cover for the country that's massacring them?

  6. Israel itself is a Euro-American colony; I'm pretty sure the only European colony established after WWII - at least the trend since WWII was very much in the opposite direction. Also hard to see why the US would be more hated for a propaganda exercise than for arming and funding the actual massacres that continue to increase the desperately urgent need for aid.

  7. It's got to be that. Or could Israel have something on the US? That is to say; blackmail. Or else, the powers that be in the US just hate Muslims. Or does it all boil down to US domestic politics and the strength of the Zionist lobby? Hard to know which really. It's not as if they're going to tell us.
