When WAS that exactly? Back before the 1950s when the US crushed the new democratic government of Iran? Back in the early 20th century when the US sent troops into Russia to try to restore its royalty to power? The lesson from Vietnam was well learnt, but you are mistaken about what it was. The lesson was that the US population will not stand for its government instigating wars where the American death toll is high.

Yes they came through the persecution on the moral high-ground but ceded it almost immediately by using using terrorist tactics to clear the land they wanted for their own of Palestinians.

@miltonthegreat6520 Hi. I appreciate your post even though I don't understand it. As I see it, the US uses three basic methods of intervening in other countries. One is military, including direct force, training, intelligence, weapons supply, etc. Another is financial, including embargos or the threat thereof, boycotts, buying its leaders either with personal bribes or by flooding the country with money, etc. Another is by disseminating propganda. The objective is always to increase American power and/or wealth.

Define mistake. The US has been steadily consolidating its control of Middle East oil, hasn't it? Unless you ACTUALLY BELIEVE the US government rhetoric about a "war against terror" I see no mistake.
