Imagine a viral infection so awful that you had to take a test to find out if you had it or not.

Most people start with "Thank you for the Question Senator" when answering, it's a way of being a bit polite and buying a bit of time. Also they like to say "we take that very seriously Senator" when pinned down about something but they don't want to actually answer, it's very annoying.

@davecooper3238 Negative tests were required for all sorts of things. In the good old days (before 2019) you would only take a test for something if you felt unwell or showed some symptoms, here you had to take a test and if it showed positive you had to stay home off work and self isolate even if you had no symptoms. If you wanted to visit a foreign country (if the borders were still open at all) you had to take a test to get into the foreign country and then take another test to be able to get back home. Don't you remember? Is your memory so short? They were paying people extra to stay off work.

@davecooper3238 So now you agree, if was the first time we have ever had to take a test to find out if you "had it " but now you think it was "worth it".
