Well the BBC may or may not be correct in its vignette here, but back in the UK for purely domestic audiences t is as partial, as un-informing and as frankly trivial re US and European life and society as it can be. It says it's function in the UK is to 'reflect people's lives' back at them. How contemptible. How pathetic. In the days of the great Lord Reith through to about the time of Birt the function was to Educate Inform and Entertain. That went right down the toilet. This pathetic decline reflects the dreadful inward looking reality of brexitised xeno-Britain. Just mean and small. And culture?Find opera, concerts, the Greek Plays let alone vaguely intellectual conversations with great minds on complex issues over say an hour's broadcast. It is wall to wall 'presenters' you emit the editorial line of the grey men and women in suits or whatever ,In the BBC these days, it would be bloody hard, maybe impossible now to enjoy a diet other than that of bland codswallop.

I am distressed that the BBC can act like this and am VERY pleased that Boris will make the license fee voluntary and the foul politicised edifice will disappear. The loss of its 'cultural content is tragic, but even that corrupted and very low grade as it 'reflects peoples lives'.
