It is depressing to visit Britian from Europe. Poverty is widespread, services pathetically inadequate, and this is not a matter of relative impoverishment, it is absolute impoverishment. The reasons are clear, but this safe little video avoids all the really hard reasons.
Britain NEVER has a social discussion about the ridiculous socio-economic attitudes and decisions that have torpedoed the country. Neither political party offers other than absurd bigotry and myopia blended with lots of mediocre people leading them and high levels of incompetence and mindless damage that they will always and inevitably inflict.
Thus there will be no chance to correct the angle of decline.
HE is wrong about the pre 2007 economy, the CAUSE of the collapse was the 15 years before it, as was the case in the US.
IN sum, Britian has been incompetently governed since 1945 with only a single administration that showed some relevance and competence. Why? delusions about the real condition of the country, which also propelled the madness of brexit.
His point about government investment is nonsense, It is a derivative of tax take, which comes from the product of private capital investment. The level of private GDFCF was and is low in the BRitish private sector. Thus deregulated labour was and is sweated.
