The Euro ruling elites are totally insulated from the effects of their net zero laws.  AN example: buy a massively expensive Merc or Audi or other electric car and nearly ALL regimes of tax there will give ENORMOUS corporate tax credits, and the benefits in kind for the driver that exposes hi or her to taxation are truly TINY! Bloody corruption, since the true full and massive cost is paid by the rest of the impoverished society!!!!!! Thus the loss ( these days enormous) on resale is insulated for the corporate fat cat who gets his corporate boardroom effort to get him a mega electric male jokiest. While ordinary people are, quite simply SCREWED.
