  1. Roberts is not an expert epidemiologist. She is more of a TV personality than other. her skills do not transfer to suggest she has relevant gravitas here. I listen to world renowned experts. They are clear that, For a given death rate - and now the death rate is extremely small, (in part as a result of the vaccination program, in part as a result of the well-discussed viral selection of the very weak who cluster together early on in the pandemic, and in part as a result of effective treatments and protocols developed by experience), there is a need - for this given mortality level, to spread the viral infection as far as possible into the target population, which will generate enduring herd effect, and act to minimise future deaths. She is , as I say, not an expert epidemiologist. This confirms Ioannidis comment made recently that vox pop and plebeian hysteria drives policy.
