  27. There is no disintegration of UK farming there is the destruction by deliberate action of small family farms and as night follows day the land so released will be used for three purposes. Firstly, it will be integrated into mega farms. Secondly, it will be used for unplanned strip development, housing of the worst sort And thirdly, it will be used to connect the urban centers, one to the other such that the towns and the countryside will become one with only a slight variation in tree cover Simple to travel around modern England it is a waste land town after town city after city ugliness after ugliness dreadful little houses tinpot little boxes miserable lives for the millions no living creatures except human beings, starving hedgehogs, and the badgers infected with tuberculosis. In terms of nature and wildlife, it is as close to a toxic wasteland full of chemicals As could it have been imagined and the birdlife year on year by alarming percentages down to almost nothing in very large parts of the country. Frankly compared to England of 200 years ago, it is a complete hell on earth. The people who live in it become quite feral disconnected from nature, desperately stressed, aggressive, and the followers are insane, political cults with no rationality shared by any of them other than pigs in trough subsidies offered by rotten pork barrel politicians. What else is there to say about the place?? Had either choice I would not propagate the next generation of children to live in suffer and be ruined in such a dreadful place. But I nearly forgot. Rachel Reeves and red green Starmer. Mustn’t miss them out of the mix must we?!

  191. This may offend some people, but the long history of Britain as a highly sophisticated civilization of immense success over hundreds of years was generated by British people, long steeped in the political economic and cultural philosophies that enabled the most sophisticated thinking in terms how to develop democratic representative civilization in a highly technical environment that at its most significant straddled the world. I am of the opinion that massive immigration from places with utterly different, and in the view of many, alien civilizations with completely different comprehensions and world views dilutes distorts and now removes the depth of comprehension so hard won over many hundreds of years in England. The consequences are, in my view, unfolding before our eyes. The entire global investing community is observing the reality there, and a rise in interest rates over and above what would have been the case pre-Kwartang and Truss plus buying one’s own degraded debt today will not be anything like sufficient to remove the developing perspective of a significantly degraded political\Economic there. This overlays what Patel was doing on the world stage. The consequences of a permanent re-evaluation of the reliability of Britain cannot be overstated. For the British this is becoming a terrifying level of decline and anarchy.A financial Suez plus moment. This may not be recoverable, and that condemns vast numbers to experience poverty, or if already poor, then real desperation.

  411. The argument between the big tax/big spend state on the one hand, and the small tax/small state on the other is developing in a condition of severe failure in Britian, which has happened over 77 years of perverse economic mal-administration. The consequence has been low productivity, pitifully low growth, massive indebtedness, collapse of prosperity for 1/3 of the people, which will accelerate to consume 1/2 or much more of the people there. Politically, I do not understand why Truss cut taxes by 45 billion, but did not cut state spending by an equal amount, That shows her naivete, lack of brainpower and inability to govern. Should the British choose Labour, comforting statements about reversing the cuts and maintaining the high tax / high spend economy the CENTRAL question you in Britian should ask, but which you will NOT Ask is Will the continuation of what was done from 1945 to now result in anything other than the expansion of poverty to consume half or more of the state? The second question you should ask is, 'IF the attempt to cut spending and cut tax, (assuming Truss gets to actually do it), and if she wins the election in 2 years' time (still quite possible) then if that does not work and the economy remains unproductive and a failure, which it is and has been for many decades, should there be a permanent move to a European style redistributive system of shared misery, but not based on the perpetual increase in the debt burden? Nothing else is worth talking about. All else is wind. What cannot be denied, however, is that the policy prescriptions followed from 1945 to the present has produced a disaster. It has NOT happened since 2016. Nor from 2008. This depth of disastrous failure took a full three quarters of a century to achieve. It is terrifying for the population. And terrified people usually make very stupid decisions. That is where you need visionary competence in leadership. Which appears NOT to exist in that country now.

  422. It is hard to interpret this as other than a 180° switch in allegiance by the American power. Defective Trump has become an ally of Russia. Everyone is still trying to make excuses for him suggesting he’s just a poor negotiator or some such nonsense, but that is obverse ridiculous. This man has a script that he is delivering because he has made agreement with Russia sometime ago probably well before he was elected and the script is being read out now to the world. His administration is asking the military to put forward an 8% cut in military spending in each of the coming five years making about 40% reduction in total. This is being done in the context of an agreed agenda. And agreed agenda with a foreign power. How could it be otherwise? The suggestion that Starlink should be turned off to the Ukrainian forces would be an act to support Russia and to directly damage not only Ukraine, but Western Europe and eastern Europe. Trump has not said one single word which supports the idea that he is in charge of a power which is part of NATO, which is part of a western alliance and which continues the policy that is exist existed for the last 80 years. Everything he has said and done is the reverse of that. He has removed his top military and one suspect he has done that because they revolted against the instruction to cut the military spend or even to investigate such a thing to the degree of 40% of the total. From all that one reads, he has put third rate accolades and election denies in charge. It is very clear from the analysis that is published at Europe would take 10 years to recover the military logistical and electronic warfare capability that the United States has. Gain from all that is published, that gives Russia a massive advantage should choose to act against Europe. From everything one reads Europe is both partly defenseless and no longer has an American ally and probably an American foe

  467. A bitter little comment from obviously a bitter person. Margaret Thatcher was a very great prime minister, but only a partial corrective to the complete in politics sanity of 1970s state socialism. The lunatic politics of the last few years is a direct result of the grotesque instability caused unambiguously by the gigantic financial meltdown, which resulted from Blair Brown and Bals together with left Democrat Americans screwing up the banking system, and in the case of Britain, using the de- facto false banking profits to subsidize a gigantic state extravaganza. Of course I do not expect people like you to understand that since you and they seem from everything you say to have the memory of a fish . The present government is a concoction of nationalism, extreme state coercive big spending socialism, xenophobia and plain insanity and is the result also of the lunacy of false multiculturalism. No other country on earth has engaged in this to anything like the extent of deranged Great Britain.. These lunatics presently misdirecting the state could only have appeared as an indirect result of the collapse in 2008 and the absurdity of protecting bond holders, destroying the prospects of young people for thirty years and unreasonably protecting the investments of those who, in any moral framework, would have lost everything as a result of their gross person over indulgence in unfunded consumerism.  It seems clear that Sunak will be ejected from office and so he should be but only an idiot would think that a rerun of 1940s soggy debt generated state socialism and a potential chancellor who shows about as much imagination as Stafford Cripps ever did will do anything other than propel Britain, already, an officially described third world emerging country into even greater depths of poverty, failure, and despair.  To have arrived at this disastrous point where a budget can barely be uttered, and interest charges exceeded major social, and military expenditure has not happened as a result of 10 to 15 years of idiocy but is the result of 78 years of all but unbroken incompetence, fantasy economics, amateurism and crony capitalism tainted by advantage for those profiting from an increasingly basic rentier economy since the end of the second world war. The single exception to this litany of near and on occasion , in my view and the view of many others, sometimes actual criminal failure was the lady who you sneered at. @Barbarapape
