Unjustified living standards are always met by state payments funded by the ever larger issuance of state debt which now sits at about GDP level. The debt is funded now by the proceeds of the issuance of further debt. The control mechanisms by the state are as comprehensive and distorting as any Soviet astern economy. The left lies routinely about their supposed hero Keynes by NEVER paying down debt at the top of the economic cycle.As he absolutely required the borrowing state to do. The British state is close to de facto bankrupt, as was the case in 1976 and the consequences of which resulted in implosion and th ended but far too short corrective of the Thatcher years.
