  1. One full generation ago, Jean-Jacques, Servan -, Shriver wrote a groundbreaking and direction, indicating book entitled the American challenge. It identified the need for Europe to catch up with American competitive integrated performance, technology, and muscle. It was a primary driver behind the European Union, a single market and stripping away the petty nationalism which had done so much damage and which had limited Europe so much. Sadly the Euro appears controlled by Germany for German interests, and the lack of German trust in the European project stopped the integration of financial market market, the assurance of common debt and the direction of industrial policy on a pan European basis. All of this was the direct consequence of Germany, holding the reins for its own interests and far too tight. Now there is a new challenge and it’s not just America. The entire globe is free of the constraints. The Europeans have hidden behind and ruthless in intellectual competition is developing everywhere. Europe needs to do the same thing and the best way I can do. It is simply copying the United States and creating all of the institutions and even more importantly, the attitudes, commerce society, and progress that the United States finds so easy to engage in.. If your car is on as a protectionist sleepy, German dominated place then it is finished. It will be the Portugal of the future antique dirt, pool and irrelevant.
