  1. Mann is not accurate in the matter of the IPCC reports being fully inclUsive, and the IPCC REPORTS SHOW LINEARITY NOT SECOND ORDER CHANGE. Man objects on the basis of a psychological effect re inaction. That has nothing to do with the science. I am with the author of the piece and not with Mann on this matter. Mann massively understates the matter of available shallow seas methane, ignores the work done by the Russians re methane release to atmosphere. I do not understand what he is actually trying to say???

  6. MOst of the best science I have read says it will be 2 degrees C by 2040 and 3 - 4 or more by 2100. That can only be avoided by the use of currently non-existant CCS and sequestration technologies. There is NO indication that the 3 -4 by 2100 and hotter thereafter is slightly possible. In addition to the unrealistically conservative IPCC, there is a fast developing probability of a methane pulse in the shallow Russian seas of the Arctic and there is NO indication that this can be avoided or the risk minimised. ALL the analysis shows doing anything really radical - which probably can not work - would propel the world into a deep collapse in the economies of the globe, and the loss of life that would follow from that depth of collapse would be immense.
