Well Ferguson makes sense in the context of climate change that is not at the point where it is both unstoppable by hamanity, and will not then develop to a condition to destroy the functioning of human industrial civilisation, let alone wipe most life (and that to include human life) from the face of the planet. Ferguson makes the subject 'comfortable', 'controllable', subject to 'insurace ' and techniques routinely employed. Commercial insurance will collpase, qas it has re flood insurance in the US, where it is managemtn and offwred, in effect, by the Federal government. The losses are unimaginable in 30 yers time, and the insurance market will simply collapse as a result.
His dislike of left wing interventionism is rational, since regional activity is pointless.Unless it is planet wide, AND there is gigantic sequestration, there will be no gain from the US and Europe destroying its economy.
It is far too little, far too less.
My book on the matter is the only one I know trhat actually suggests what will be done, to try to slow the progress to ctastrophe.
