I as a very high earner and self employed contracted cancer. I had to stop working due to treatments, but being self employed I got no benefits and wasn’t entitled to housing benefit to pay my mortgage as the rules were changed. I sold my mobile home, my car and cashed in my pension and then had to sell my home before I lost it to the bank. My wife nearly had a breakdown and I ended up writing to my MP but at the end of the day someone like me who was paying £70k per year in tax was left to rot. If I had been a migrant I would have got in work benefits and my rent paid. My wife and I got nothing and now have nothing to pass on to my kids, my illness cost me everything. Thanks to the tories who allowed this to happen

@boota1979 I sold everything and even cashed in my pension. I was ill and no benefits and after savings and everything else went I had to sell my home. This was going on from 2016 right up to 2022, how much savings do you think I had. It was the tories who changed the law so that home owners could not claim housing benefit so paying a mortgage bill of £800 per month for 6 years plus utility bills. The system looks after those who haven’t contributed or arrives illegally and craps on people who have done the right thing all their lives
