Hey Freya, fantastic video.that made me think a lot about the future too.
When you brought up AI being deceptive and also your depression, I was wondering: could you be projecting your depression on AI? As Wil Wheaton (who has been dealing with depression himself) has said: Depression Lies. Maybe the depression is the real parasitic cancer...
You also asked where AI is going. Well, AI defeated us in chess in the 90s, and then AI defeated us in the game Go a couple of decades later, so the next game AI is going to tackle us with is Diplomacy, and it is practising on us right now. I like to compare AI with forklifts, because a machine has become stronger than a human, doesn't mean humans no longer need our muscles. Same for LLMs, because AI will be better at creating smart content, doesn't mean humans no need to use our brains...
Anyway, I am still trying to figure it out myself here, so I don't have all the answers, but hopefully I have helped you a little bit? Best wishes for the new year! :)

I have been struggling to come to grips with how an area of a disc is exactly 4 times more than the area of a sphere. I have been imagining cutting 4 discs into into infinitely many thin rings and rebuilding a 3D sphere out of those 2D rings...
But with this video could it somehow be proven the area of a sphere is exactly 4 times more than an area of a disc?
I have also been looking at the area of a 3-sphere in 4D space, which has a hyperarea of 2pi^2 r^3, but that is a volume... differentiating this would give me an actual area of 6pi^2 r^2, which is not what I would have expected, because; why would pi not square itself going from 2D space to 3D space, but pi suddenly does start squaring itself from 3D space to 4D space? I would have expected that, if the area of a disc in 2D space multiplies by 4 when it inflates into a sphere in 3D space, then the area of a sphere in 3D space multiplies by 6 (or some other round number) when it inflates into a 3-sphere in 4D space (just like 4 1D lines can be folded into a 2D square, 6 2D squares can be folded into a 3D cube, 8 3D cubes can be folded into a 4D tesseract, etc.), and we would have an area of 24pi r^2 for a 3-sphere in 4D space (which is wrong aparently). Hope you can help. :)

Same for biochemistry. I did a interview for a job at a cancer research institute once, the project leader explained his research on a transport protein in great detail, but I didn't see the connection to the disease, so I asked how this is linked to cancer...? He had to think for it for a moment, while him looking at the screen I looked painfully at his colleague, he smiled thinking this was extremely funny, the project leader finally came up with a story that the transport protein is being researched because it looks similar to another protein, which is related to cancer. Long story short, they didn't give me the job and I no longer donate money to cancer research. Worst part of it all is that I have had multiple job interviews like this... :(
Science used to be done by the church, monasteries, etc., until their religious systems got too corrupt. I think academia is so rotten to the core by nepotism now, it is reaching the point, where it has just become a place of ritual to find your future life-partner instead of a place of education & exploration. I am currently hoping the gaming industry is going to take over the education & exploration from academia, just like academia took over education & exploration from the church and monasteries centuries ago... 🤞
PS. ESA has invested into the Kerbal Space Program 2 game, and the YouTube channel Kurzgesagt is also investing into making games, so I guess there is still hope.

@Mathologer , are you sure? If you follow the 3 dimensional diagonal of the box (instead of the 2 dimensional diagonal of the box's surface), then there should only be one option left to create a new box to cut out of the rectangular box, because those 3D diagonals have to connect subsequentially. If you pause the video at 19:00, then you can follow the 3D diagonal from box to box, starting with the:
Yellow box, the diagonal starts in the far right bottom corner and goes to the far left top corner, which connects to the ->
Green box, at the far top hind corner, whose 3D diagonal connects to the far bottom front corner, which connects to the ->
Purple box, at the far left bottom corner, whose 3D diagonal connects to the far right top corner, which connects to the ->
Red box, at the far right bottom corner, whose 3D diagonal connects to the far left top corner, which does not connect to the ->
Blue box, because the 2D diagonals of the box's surface for the "folded golden spiral" were followed, which I seriously doubt is correct, since every odd quarter circle is contained within a rectangle and not a square like in the 2D golden spiral of the left image at frame 20:45 of the video...
There should only be one 3D golden spiral within these boxes and I bet Freya Holmer ( @acegikmo ) can make a great visualisation out of it with her Bezier splines https://youtu.be/jvPPXbo87ds in unity. :)

I disliked, however, I do not agree that the probability of tails Monday = 25% & tails Tuesday = 25%.
Tails Monday = 50%, and that probability is carried over to Tuesday, because in that sleeping beauty scenario Monday = Tuesday.
This is why it is definitely not the first option, where heads Monday = 33%, tails Monday = 33%, & tails Tuesday = 33%.
As you explained, adding more days will decrease the probability of heads Monday, which is ridiculous.
Therefore tails Monday, tails Tuesday, tails Wednesday, etc. become cumulatively -> tails Someday, which all have 50% probability.
