  1. This warm-water ports problem is why Russia was involved in the Sykes-Picot Agreement in 1916. The Sykes-Picot agreement divided up the Ottoman Empire between France (Picot) & England (Sykes) before the Ottoman Empire had even collapsed because France & Britain were instrumental in that collapse. This agreement is central to the still-ongoing troubles throughout the Middle East & North Africa and is the precursor to the creation of the terrorist-state of Israel in the middle of British-held Palestine & is why Kurdistan no longer appears on maps.

  2.  @joyboy6535  sanctions against Russia are fully justified especially when you add in interference in elections which gave the world Trump & Brexit. I agree UK & USA deserve sanctions & so does France for it's actions in Libya, Tunisia & possibly western Sahel.

  9. no, but announcements about how they're going to wean themselves off it would go down well. USA has announced both that it's going to increase production & that it's going to remove its regime-change blockade on Venezuela. Iran may be released soon too.

  12. MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) collapsed with the Berlin Wall. The countries with leaders lunatic enough to go through with it at the moment are India, Israel & UK, possibly Pakistan too. Israel & India won't because they're not sure they're against Russia & UK can't because "the button" is actually held by Biden in the USA. This leaves a remote possibility of Pakistan who won't act alone in something so self-destructive.

  15. there are 2 main chipsets running charging in devices, Qualcomm & Mediatec, both use USB-C & both do super-fast charging but the standards are different & incompatible. The device, lead & wall-brick all have to be the same standard to get a fast charge because all 3 parts have chips in them (yes, leads too). Qualcomm is more popular in the West & Mediatec is more popular in the East so with most buyers being in the West & most manufacturing done in the East I suspect there may be a problem brewing...
