  1. 6:59 one of the key indicators for me is what happens when the commuting vehicle breaks – in the '80s i would just go buy another one giving time for the original one to be fixed properly, now you're walking to work unless you can get a lift & the expense of fixing your vehicle means you're missing meals for quite a while.

Gary isn't talking about the person who rents out one house to pay for their retirement, he's talking about the person who owns 30 tower blocks, rents out all 3,000 flats & uses that income to buy 30 more tower blocks. The person with one house can only afford a basic accountant so will be paying all taxes, the person with 30 tower blocks can afford the best accountant who will find ways to dodge all the taxes.

  8.  @bobsmithy9024  people making over £150k don't get taxed because they're not taking a wage or salary, they're taking drawings, interest, dividends & all sorts of other things that are not wages – Income Tax doesn't apply. Take some examples – Boris Johnson is taking £84,144 as an MP's salary & getting taxed £27,542 on it but he's also getting "donations" which aren't taxed, he's getting £250k a pop for after-dinner speeches & paying no tax, he's got £millions in the bank making good interest on which he's paying minimal tax. £Millions in income with no tax! & if it gets taxed he just drops it in an offshore account & again no tax. If you put £1million in a bank account with good interest you'll get around £2k a week in interest & if you've made the right declarations there's no tax. £2k a week for sitting on your arse!

Water & sewage are failing nationwide because there's been no investment since it was sold off in 1989, there's no longer a single river, lake or reservoir that's safe to swim in & we're expected to drink it! Do you remember the tunnel scenes in The Italian Job? They were filmed in 1968 in Birmingham's brand new sewers before they were sold off 20 years later, they're now 57 years old & they've had no maintenance or expansion for 36 years, they're leaking & now inadequate. Has any new sewer, water network or reservoir been built in 36 years? No, of course not! 😮

It does take stamina, the French still have to remind politicians at least weekly that the guillotine is waiting, they've had to repeat this reminder for more than 200 years 😢 Surely it's easier to think before you vote once every 5 years than to march through the streets burning things every week?

  49. @mb4080, put the Green Party in charge, they have policies to rapidly correct the inequality because from that flows fixing the climate. None of the other contenders are interested in inequality, for the Greens it's central. We are the voters, it's our choice.

We have law for that, we have Misconduct In Public Office, it's Common Law not Legislation so it's loosely defined & we can privately bring cases to Court, the punishment is life imprisonment plus a lifetime ban from holding Public Office. Basically, if our barrister can convince a Jury it's misconduct then that's the judgement, it is misconduct & gets punished. (It was tried recently against Boris Johnson for lying but the case foundered on a corrupt Judge, Judge Supperstone who was an employee of Johnson's. Supperstone was legally required to declare the connection & step aside, he didn't.) It's the King's job to root out corrupt Ministers but since 1688 he's been so disempowered he can't do it easily if at all. Your solution of using the Police won't work because they're a branch of Government, they're proving that pretty much every day at the moment. (Blair was reported to every Police station in the country for war crimes in Iraq, nothing happened). The Green Party are suggesting Citizens Assemblies & I think this would work though we would have to vote the Green Party into power & at the moment too many people are believing the propaganda that there are only 2 Parties.
