However, Misconduct In Public Office is a civil offense, prosecutions are brought by non-Government organizations & persons (at a cost of £millions because only barristers can speak in the Upper Courts).

Lynching was tried 400 years ago (Wat Tyler & the Peasants Revolt) & worked but the death toll was enormous. Assassination is surprisingly difficult & made more so by AI-backed near-universal surveillance. Misconduct In Public Office has been tried against one Prime Minister (Johnson) & cost £millions (crowdfunded) but failed at a corrupt Judge (Judge Supperstone). TLDR: I don't think there is a clear answer, we are left with relying on the ballot box which has already blatantly failed 😢
