Israel has responded by bombing 60 of the hostages & shooting 3 as well as the hundreds they killed on October 7th as part of their Hannibal Directive "kill everyone" policy.

Qatar & Egypt have provided platforms for negotiations, Egypt have provided access for aid, Lebanon is drawing Israeli troops away from Gaza & making Israel spend money on munitions, money it hasn't got because 360,000 reservists aren't doing their day jobs. Türkiye is being very noisy in important forums & in the public media, so are Russia, China & Afghanistan. I'm fairly sure Iran is doing something though I can't see it, likewise Jordan, Syria, Iraq & Saudi.

  23. ​ @HassanKhan-os9md what Yemen is doing is having a huge impact, a third of the whole world's trade has re-routed costing huge amounts of money & blocking Israel's eastern port completely. Look at the journey of a shipping container from India or China to east Jerusalem, it can go up the Red Sea to Egypt or Jordan & be carried by truck from there, an identical container to west Jerusalem has to go all the way round Africa & across the Mediterranean before it gets on a truck.

Like many things in the region the view from the West is extremely murky but it seems they went into Syria to defend Ba'athism, a pan-Arabist movement (one Syrian strand of which is a military dictatorship headed by Bashar Al Assad) as well as to defend the Lebanese border against Al Nusra, ISIS & whichever uprising USA chose to foment. The number of actors in Syria was staggering & their allegiances kept shifting.
