  2. In 1987, yes, almost - to create tensions & unrest with Fatah & the PLO. It worked, there was very nearly civil war, Hamas won the only election ísrel has allowed but got trapped in Gaza, PLO has taken a background position & Fatah leads the PA in the West Bank

  4. Eilat is not available as a launch point for ísraeli submarines because of recent Houthi action & both the Red Sea & Persian Gulf are relatively shallow rendering submarines relatively visible from drones & there are a lot of drones in the area at the moment.

  8. You neglect to mention China which takes a lot of oil from the Gulf, sides with Iran & would get extremely upset if its oil supply was disrupted.
