but I didn't "SAY" that, did I... if you touch a firearm, in any capacity, it is your responsibility to handle it in a safe responsible manner. again, so far as I know, actors are required to inspect a prop gun they are handed on set themselves, just as anyone would do in a normal situation.
I own firearms, have friends who own firearms. if a friend of mine said here, check out my gun, it's not loaded, I would take possession of the weapon as if it were loaded, pointing it in a safe direction, then visually confirming the magazine and chamber is empty, the also physically confirm the mag well and chambers are empty!
if you do not know that you should do this, or know how to responsibly do this, you should never never never never ever ever touch a firearm!
