Yeah, the army doesn't do a great job dealing with medical issues. I was in ROTC at UCLA (getting a degree in microbiology) in 1978. I had had cholera in 1976, and in the course of my studies, found I had an extremely high IgG titer against cholera, and got a signed report, from the head of bacteriology at UCLA, stating I should not be vaccinated against cholera. And yet, they twice vaccinated me, causing extreme anaphylaxis. I changed my mind, and didn't swear the oath. Funny thing, at the induction center, one woman was pulled aside for a psych eval, because she admitted she'd smoked cannabis. All of us had, we just knew not to admit to it.
