This Thanksgiving, I had a Syrian Lyft driver, and asked him if he'd ever consider going home, if al Assad were removed. He said he missed his country, but that his children, although born in Syria, had become Americanized, and were "too soft" to survive there, so he'd have to remain in the US.

Rather than complaining about slavery, that was ended almost two centuries ago, why aren't people focusing on the slavery that still exists, in islamic Arab countries?

H1B visas are usually a dodge, that bring in inferior engineers, because accounting thinks they'll be cheaper, ignoring the productivity of the senior engineer, who often has to train their incompetent replacement. I've dealt with some of these engineers, and their inability to write working code is legend. They waste the time of productive engineers, because they haven't been well educated in coding practices, and have to be mentored. One guy I dealt with didn't even know what a case statement was, even though the had a BA in CS. Companies who want to hire what they think will be cheaper programmers, are required to advertise locally, before they fill the position with an H1B. They'll have impossible qualification requirements, like 5 year experience in a 3 year old language. Of course the person they bring over doesn't satisfy those requirements. Unless these abuses of the system are ended, the H1B program should be scrapped.

Very nicely done, but you there is one glaring flaw in what you said. Netanyahu is extremely popular with the vast majority of the people. However, the press and TPTB are all very left, and they hate Netanyahu precisely because he is so popular. The left is desperate to regain power, yet Likud always gets the most seats in the Knesset, the Israeli parliament. For over a generation, any army officer, who did not subscribe to the leftist post modernist ideology, would not be promoted beyond tataluf (brig. gen.) so matkal (army high command) is populated by leftists. And then there are the self appointing oligarchs of the judiciary, who have been stealing power, from the democratically elected government, since the 1990s. If you think you Brits have a serious deep state, that is dedicated to oppressing the common man, what Israel faces is much worse. All this means, if you don't understand Hebrew, you will only get the leftist point of view, never that of the majority of the country, and how the Israeli left is dedicated to bringing down the government, no matter how badly it hurts the nation.

Weird, I'm old, and I've never heard that. The closest thing was the Billy Jean King thing. And the guy was not top of his class. I remember before Title IX, and it was much better after, when we could compete just against other women. It was much more fair. Unless they make giving birth, which I assure you requires athletic prowess, an Olympic sport, having to compete against XY males is unfair. .

@michaelogrady1002 I don't know how things work in Ireland, but here in the USA, it is illegal for noncitizens to vote, and yet the current administration allowed in illegal aliens, and even flew many in, and placed them in GOP counties. They then paid LLCs to register them to vote. When several states began removing noncitizens from voter rolls, the DOJ issued injunctions to prevent this. It was an attempt to cheat, that didn't succeed, but many illegals voted last Tuesday.

Can you not understand how women find it threatening, to have to share intimate space with a strange male, no matter what he says he is? I don't care how you dress, but men should stay out of the women's room, and not enter into women's sports. I remember when women couldn't open up a bank account, without a male's authorization. We haven't reached wage equality yet. Only after Title IX have women been able to compete on an even playing field. And now these guys just invade our spaces. It isn't fair! It isn't just! Why can't they just leave us alone? How much more misogynistic can you get, to be such bullies?

And this invasion of safe spaces for real women, and butting into women's sports, is very recent. I knew a number of drag queens, in LA, in the 80s, and they may have called you 'girlfriend', but used the men's room.

US citizen here. Americans were sick of being lied to . They lied about inflation. First saying it was transitory, then rejiggering the inflation metrics, by removing the rising costs of food, fuel and housing, to produce a false sense that inflation was a quarter of what it really is. He also lied about the border, falsely claiming it was secure, while actually ending all enforcement, and letting any fraud illegally stay in our country. And while the taxpayer was soaked for infrastructure, we actually got none. All the spending went to hiring incompetents using DEI, not to actual infrastructure. His administration then used all these useless DEI hires, who won't even show up to work, to claim a drop in the unemployment rate. If you subtract government hires, which taxpayers must pay, the unemployment rate actually soared. So while jobs were created, revenue was decreased. This extra spending is what is driving 7% inflation.
