  9. Gee, the pandemic made people realize how stupid it is wasting time commuting, when most work is more productive at home. No more trying to concentrate and debug code while the drone next to your cubical has loud phone conversations. No more creepy boss hitting on you. Less time sitting in traffic. More time at home with those you love. The only people who miss going into the office are the mid-level managers, who do nothing but waste your time in meetings, that they constantly call to justify their salary. Cutting out the middle managers, and only driving into work once a week will save the company money, and stop wasting your time. So, the fat cats with expensive office real estate are hurting. Better them, than the people who actually create and produce.

  10. Back in 1979, my ex and I bought our first home in North Hollywood, and joined Synagogue Adat Ari El. Henry Winkler was a prominent member, and when his little daughter was born, he brought her to shul for her naming. I have never before or since, seen such a happy father. He absolutely glowed with love and joy, for his newborn daughter (a little red head). We ran into him a few other times, in the SF Valley, and he always treated everyone, no matter who, with kindness and respect. I'd much rather listen to his opinion, than that of Hershel Walker. He is a much better human being.

  12. The flow, of Russians, out of the country is on a serious uptick. But, it was happening even before this new conscription drive. Last month, I was staying in Israel for a couple of months, which I've done numerous times in the past. The stores were filled with people who only spoke Russian. Most of them were in their 20s and 30s. Several times, I was asked by strangers on their phones, if I spoke Russian, could I translate for them. (When I responded I only spoke English and Spanish, in addition to the Hebrew we were speaking, they said they already knew English, and Spanish is useless.) These were mostly real estate agents, with an influx of new Russian clients, trying to buy apartments. I know, from family of friends, that Turkey is also full of Russians, looking to resettle there. Even if Putin were to stop this stupid war of his, many of these Russians won't return, as they are getting homes and jobs in other countries. The death blow, Putin has dealt, to the Russian economy, is not just the sanctions, it is the massive loss of educated young adults from the workforce.

I remember taking a HS chemistry class, where the teacher announced that girls didn't belong in the class. When I turned out to be the best student, that he ever taught, rather than change his mind about the inadequacies of girls, he decided I was actually a boy. He started using male pronouns for me. It was very disturbing, but typical of the 1970s. Today, girls are allowed to be the best in class. Stop complaining that finally, things are fair.

  38. When I was in junior high and high school, in the 1970s, parents could always opt their kids out of sex ed. Funny thing, most of the girls that got pregnant, were the ones whose parents had kept them out of sex ed. One of my friends, with super religious parents, didn't even know she was pregnant until her mother brought her to the ER with intense abdominal pains, where she delivered her child.
