@danieldougan269 Why should teachers be allowed to decide what is true for other people's children. I remember parent-teacher meetings, and what impressed me was how ignorant and stupid most teachers are. I had to teach my daughters stoichiometry, because their chemistry teacher was an idiot. I taught my children how to read before they went to school. And I had to teach them math, because the moronic way the school went about it, just confused them. Mathematics is a language unto itself, but the idiot teachers made my kids write out an explanation, in English, in each step. That is backwards, an elegant proof needs no explanation. We taught our children how to use, and program, computers, because the teachers had no clue. My husband taught them math theory, a subject most teachers can't comprehend. We gave them Barbara Tuchman books to read, because the history they learned in school was simple minded and inadequate. Why should such stupid, ignorant people, as most teachers are, get to make any decisions regarding curriculum? Remember, their salary is paid by taxpayers.

@Ash Roberts A teachers job isn't to just "spend hours" with children, but the teach them. And that teaching should be of academic subjects, like the 3 Rs, reading 'riting and 'rithmatic. Religion has no place in the school, but neither does political indoctrination. History should be taught in a dry, unbiased fashion; this happened at a certain time, and this is why it happened. No child should be made to feel they are the wrong color. And teachers should teach that every people, has at some time, been enslaved. The black experience is not unique, slavery, and the transport of enslaved people, has happened throughout recorded human history, and is still occurring in the Arab world today.
