Federal Reserve WOLF TheFedWolf First, many of those 97%, you claim are just fine, actually have long term debilitating effects, from the virus. Second, by allowing the virus to replicate, unchecked, we have already given rise to more dangerous variants, that can infect, and kill, young fit individuals. Do you want even more dangerous and infectious variants to arise?

@mr.romero4799 Wrong, Israel is allowing people in. They made sure the Arabs, who come in every day to work, from PA administered areas, were also vaccinated. And they have opened their skies again, but only to fully vaccinated tourists. Just like the US, Israel has borders, some protected, some not, and coastline where naval traffic can enter. The only difference was a massive drive to vaccinate the population, as soon as vaccines were available. They contracted to buy more than enough doses, at premium rates. The EU did not do as well, as they were looking for bargain prices. First, Israel started with hospital staff, and those in old age homes. Then the kupat cholim vaccinated everyone over 60, Jew and Arab alike. Then they dropped the age to over 50, and continued like that, until everyone over 16 could get vaccinated. They vaccinated guest workers, and illegal aliens, and anyone coming into the country. They offered bribes of cholent, and other delicacies, to vaccine hesitant individuals. It was not because of borders, but because of intense efforts, that they were the first country, in the world, to have more than half of their population vaccinated. And, today, the mask requirements, in outdoor areas were dropped, because of their success.

@idahonative373 First, even the mRNA vaccines are 95%, not 100% effective. That means 1 in 20, who are fully vaccinated, can still allow the virus to replicate. Unless we want to run antibody tests, on all vaccinated individuals, we don't know who can still transmit the virus. So, even those fully vaccinated should continue wearing a mask, until we reach herd immunity. Second, I'm sure, if we were told only those who are fully vaccinated can go around with out a mask, there would be unvaccinated jerks, who would take advantage of that. We could either have vaccine police, out on the streets, stopping everyone to see their vaccine papers, to catch such scofflaws, or just all continue to wear masks, regardless of vaccine status.

Israel was having a problem, with vaccine hesitancy amongst the Haredi population. They instituted a green passport program, where if you wanted to enter certain crowded spaces, like theaters, malls, gyms, synagogues, etc., you had to show your vaccine passport. They also started giving away free cholent, on Fridays, in Haredi neighborhoods, when you were vaccinated. And most of the vaccine hesitancy vanished.

@dsquared341 No, he did not make good points, he made stupid specious points. A job does a dead man no good. Countries, that have taken the approach dimwits like Joran espouse, and just continued on, without quarantine, have had the worst death rates, and have given rise to the most dangerous, infective variants. You want to see what the US would look like, if we'd done as Jordan wants, look at Brazil. And one does not have a Constitutional right to ignore simple public health measures, like vaccination requirements. The Supreme Court decided that in 1905. So, Jordan's raging about his Constitutional right, to have the freedom to infect others, was a display of ignorance.
