  1. Blame our terrible safety net for poor people and lack of mental health treatment for the homeless problem. Sex is free, condoms aren't. Lack of money is more likely responsible for the increase in STDs than MJ. There has been an uptick in STDs in most states, including those with no legal marijuana. Correlation does not prove causality, but lack of correlation can prove there is no causality. QED Legal marijuana does not lead to an increase in STDs.

  2. Hearst had an additional reason to want hemp outlawed. He had purchased a huge amount of pulp timber lands. Hemp makes a superior paper to wood pulp (less acidic, better lasting). The existence of hemp fiber made his timber lands less valuable. So he had an economic interest is outlawing hemp growth unrelated to its use a a drug. Also, NIxon started the war on drugs, but it was Carter who began dropping paraquat on Mexican hemp fields, forcing Americans to grow their own.

  3. It has been good here in Oregon too. Now, if the federal government would just allow banks and other credit card issuers to handle the transactions. Having all cash transactions make dispensaries vulnerable to theft, and complicate payrolls to employees.
