Do you understand that the reason Covid-19 was impossible to control, using normal public health measures, is it is spread by pre-symptomatic individuals? With most infectious diseases, the infected feels symptoms, or sees signs of the disease, by the time they are infectious. That makes isolation of the ill easier. But, with Covid-19, people were merrily spreading the virus, long before the first symptom. Monkeypox has rather obvious pustules, as well as fever and rash. You know you are sick by the time you're infectious. Monkeypox is seldom fatal, does not cause disability, is prevented by smallpox vaccination, and can be treated with antivirals.
