The party has a right to select a candidate that fits its ideals. It never was meant to be a democratic process.

@fd5849 Really? You've never heard of Ross Perot? How ignorant!

@2SeverusSnape Wrong. Most Democrats believe in democracy, they just don't think Marxism is the way.

@mikew6060 Nah. Trump is Putin's puppet. But, Sanders is a fellow traveler. He really believes all property should belong to the state. He and Putin long for the old days of the Soviet state, when advancement was determined by party loyalty.

@2SeverusSnape Regardless of what Republicans said about Obama, he was a moderate Democrat. Unlike Sanders, he never called for the violent overthrow of the government, or wanted the state to seize the means of production, or spoke of how wonderful Stalin, Castro or Marx were. Nor did he sing the praises of the Sandanista, as they murdered their people. Nor has he sent a letter of support to Maduro, this year, as Sanders did. Obama has spoken against the party drifting too far left. Saying communism is bad is not fear mongering, it is honesty.

@Scorpio-- Who won more votes? Or who had enough minority votes in swing states suppressed to win the Electoral College?

Liza Tanzawa As the DNC allows Independents to vote in the primaries, superdelegates are needed to prevent a populist demagogue take-over. If only the GOP has superdelegates, we wouldn't be saddled with Trump. The change the DNC should make is, stop letting outsiders run or vote in Democratic primaries.

Adaryll Kelly Oh boo hoo Democrats prefer a Democratic nominee. How terrible. If it is so hard for you to play by the rules, maybe you should leave the Party and take that old Marxist fraud with you.
1
No, the will of the majority should be recognized. Those have always been the rules of primaries. Sanders supporters want the rules changed because they are cheats.

ShutUpAndDance! Wanting the majority (not plurality) of the people's choice to be upheld is not corrupt. But, pushing an avowed Marxist on patriots in the very definition of corruption.

The nominee that fits the ideas of the majority of the party is democratic, not the one that gets the most votes. If the majority of voters choose a moderate candidate, the nominee must be a moderate. Using a plurality vote thwarts the will of party members. Frankly, I think the DNC is wrong to let independents vote on their ticket. And, in order to run in the Democratic presidential primary, a person should have won at least one office as a Democrat. Letting non-Democrats run in, or vote on, this race is the cause of all the disunity and discord.
