@marvenlunn6086 Really, then why does the shingles vaccine even exist? It's given to people who already had a varicella zoster infection. I don't know where you got that idea, it's dead wrong.

My daughter and her husband are anxiously waiting for the vaccine to be available to their almost 3 year old. She's pregnant, and he has non-insulin dependent diabetes, so they've both gotten their booster shot.

@doof goobins You make no sense.

In 1905, you could tell if a person had had a good take, by the small scar left by vaccination. Once you had a pronounced scar, they stopped vaccinating. Most people born before 1980 have such a scar.

@davidpaz9389 You were lucky, but it is well known that you can be reinfected with any coronavirus. There are plenty of people, who already survived one Covid-19 infection, then died of a new variant. Look at the huge number of dead in Manaus, who had already survived a previous infection. In a way, you're lucky, because those who survive an infection, then get vaccinated, get the strongest immunity.

A temporary halt, while they continue to vaccinate with Pfizer. Moderna contains a higher dose of mRNA than Pfizer. That's probably why it gives a most lasting immunity in older people. Different ages need different dosages.

@ifyouonlyk6556 You clearly aren't using that brain. Vaccines work by introducing your immune system to antigens, so your B and T cells learn to fight them. If you didn't have an immune system, vaccines wouldn't work. It's like the army, recruits are taught how to fight, before they have to face the enemy. That works better than dropping untrained grunts, who don't know how to use a weapon, behind enemy lines. Vaccines are basic training for your immune system.

@GuessWhoFromShaolin You're wrong. The immunity from vaccines may wane after a while, but still lasts longer than immunity derived from infection. Listen to TWiV, where real virologists discuss these matters, and find out how wrong you are.
