@JoeDeglman Incorrect, viruses like Covid-19 do not remain viable outside of a droplet that is large enough to be blocked by a mask. And it was never "standard practice" to be unmasked around influenza patients. You are now just making garbage up.

Matt manning I just looked at a study out of Bangladesh, that showed even surgical mask wearing reduced transmission. But then, I only read reputable scientific journals, not the pap you've been consuming.

Matt manning Cancer mortality was up in 2020. And it isn't surprising, when mask wearing and distancing is being utilized, that all respiratory infection rates, and subsequent deaths, would go down.

Your first contention, that big pharma gets a lot of government support is false. In most cases, the cost of most research is borne entirely by the company. While the US government may have helped streamline the approval process, during this pandemic, the actual development cost was borne by the companies. With the cost of bringing a new antiviral or vaccine to market being about $10 billion, why should they then be forced to give their IP away?
