@irvinnicely5475 They're going down because he promised to be a moderate, but is enacting too many unpopular 'progressive' policies. If the people got what they voted for, a sensible moderate, his numbers would be on the rise.

His problem is that he ran as a moderate, and was elected because of that, but is trying to put 'progressive' agendas in place. If he wants his approval ratings to go up, he should dump all his 'progressive' advisors, and only listen to moderates.

If approval ratings were an indicator of midterm votes, nobody would care.

@CH3CH2OCH2CH3net OK, got it. You're totally clueless and only support terrible candidates.

Life was better before Covid-19. But, while neither president caused that, Biden has dealt with it much better than Trump. Only an idiot deals with a problem by pretending it doesn't exist.

@patsteve9346 The problem is, all the other parties are even more extreme, than the main ones. If a centrist part were formed, to give the majority of American voters a home they could be proud of, not only would that party field winning candidates, they'd force the two main parties to move back towards the center. As long as third parties are fringy, we will continue to only have two parties of note.

@berryryder9175 It wasn't the social issues that turned most people away from Trump, but his dictatorial ways, ignorance, and distain for the Constitution and democracy.

@jaobidan2358 And respectable world leaders (not monarchial despots) openly laughed at Trump.

@ChristianThePagan If more Democrats were like Sinema and Manchin, we'd have less to fear in the midterms. Stop dumping on winners.

Maybe Clinton's approval ratings, before first midterms, were 46%, but before his second midterms, they were 66%. Republicans impeaching him, over a BJ, helped the Democratic party in 1998.

Most US citizens are moderates, and both parties have moved to the extremist fringes. We need a new, centrist party, with candidates we can vote for without regret.
1
@cusman The problem is not the House of Representative, but the Senate. A sparsely populated state, like Alaska or North Dakota, has only one Representative, but they still have two Senators.
1
@MsNickie1001 No, not a 'progressive'. That would guarantee another Trump win. We need a less impaired moderate, like Klobuchar.
1
No, we did not. We voted for a centrist, not someone who shove an aggressive, 'progressive' agenda down our throats. If Biden were to govern as he ran, as a moderate, his ratings would be higher. At least he's stopped pushing that massively unpopular BBB crud.
