  1. "Akin to world leaders going to London during the blitz?" Really? By the time the blitz began, Hitler had already subdued most of Europe, including France. Would Vichy leaders go to England? Any elected European leaders would have been engaged in their own battles, or already removed by the Nazis. And, as the US had not yet joined the fray, it's doubtful FDR would have risked travelling to London, through hostile waters or skies. That would have belied our supposed neutrality. I really wish people, who don't remember history well, would stop making historical comparisons.
