@jeremybyington I'd be worried about feces on food crops. But, unless you have a urinary or blood infection, your urine should be sterile.

@JeffreyGoddin You know what else is as old as agriculture? Getting parasites from crops fertilized with human feces. In Japan, the night soil man used to collect waste from every home, then bring it to farmers. That practice was put to an end, to stop liver fluke infections.

Sure, some people would be willing to store and bring in their urine, but most would not. So, in order to do this at scale, there would need to be a urine collection service. Even then, it would be hard to convince people to save their urine, rather than flushing it.

Really don't see the need for pasteurization, unless there is some feces contamination, as urine is usually sterile. But, what about the meth, THC, cocaine, antibiotics, steroids, anti-depressants, BCP, etc. Drugs, both legal and illegal, are also excreted in the urine. People make a big deal about hormone free meat and milk. What if the steer or cow was munching on grass, fertilized by urine filled with hormones and antibiotics?
