  1. Actually, until about a century ago, midwives performed most abortions, not barber/surgeons. Remember, medicine, as practiced in the colonies, usually hastened the death of the patient. Many patients were bled to death, because 'physicians' followed Galenic principles, of balancing the four humors. Most patients did better going to a goodwife, who treated people with herbs, not leeches. Rue was commonly used, to terminate an unwanted pregnancy.

  2. Term limits would be better. Twenty years, on the court, is quite enough.
