@henningstedtfeld7121 Actually, if you look back at the history of why hemp was outlawed, it has more to do with profit than racism. RW Hearst owned many newspapers, and bought up huge swatches of forest, and paper mills, to supply him with wood pulp. But, hemp paper is a superior product, as acid is not needed to treat its fibers, the paper lasts longer and does not yellow. Hemp paper threatened to cut into Hearst's wood pulp paper products, so he began a campaign against all hemp. After the repeal of Prohibition, Harry Anslinger had an organization of law enforcement officers, with no place to apply them, so pushed for the Marijuana Tax Act, that require a stamp to sell any cannabis product (even rope). Of course, no stamps were ever granted. Auslinger was a racist, who saw addiction in whites as a personal problem, but in blacks, as a crime. He is the person responsible for much of our draconian drug enforcement policies, but it was Hearst's papers, which sold the public on the idea that cannabis use was a serious problem.
