Victory gardens work well, when your local food is being sent to feed the troupes, not for overseas famine. The reasons that Africa is facing a food shortage are: 1) people have having too many children, 2) local food production has been hampered by drought and constant tribal wars, 3) less food aid coming in due to war in Ukraine. Only the first problem can be addressed by local people, but they continue to have overly large families.

@sleepyjoe7843 There is much less a food crisis, and much more an overpopulation crisis. Poor countries are often poor because families are too large, and tribes keep killing each other over land.

@barrylafleur8526 No, it doesn't. Developed countries have been sending food to Africa for a century. All that has caused is a quadrupling of population every 50 years. What Africa needs is not more food, to further exacerbate their population pressure, but birth control and education for girls. The more education a girl gets, the later she starts having babies, and the smaller her family size.
