What Americans don't know, is reform is needed to return to balance, to restore democracy, and to achieve equality. The objection to needed court reform is due to the fact the Ashkenazi, well connected left does not want to lose their unfair advantages over darker skinned and religious Jews. All the protests are based upon bigotry, and the attitude that democracy, that gives Mitzrachi and religious Jews an equal voice is wrong. If you agree with these protestors, you also must have supported the parents marching against school integration. Just like the Jan. 6 insurrectionists, the protestors hate democracy when it doesn't go their way. Just leave out the part that Israel's judges are appointed by other judges, and neither the people or the Knesset has any say in the matter. And since they only appoint their friends and family, if you're born to the wrong family (ie. dark skinned or religious) you'll never be a judge. Omit the fact that nowhere, in Israeli law, are the courts given the power to overturn anything, they just took it, when darker skinned Jews started electing Likud. Leave out the part that the courts overturn any law they want, not because it is unconstitutional, but because they don't like it. Leave out the fact, other countries without constitutions, don't allow judges to overturn any law. Leave out the fact the courts have even overturned Basic Law, despite it being the closest thing to a constitution Israel has. Omit the fact most businesses have to add a clause, stating any arbitration will take place in foreign courts, because they don't trust Israeli courts.

As it stands now. May businesses are afraid to invest in Israel, as the courts have been known to capriciously change the law. That is why most Israeli businesses have a clause, in any contract, that any dispute will be settled in European or American courts. Court reform will only help to stabilize the current shaky situation. But, if court reform is passed, those who've always enjoyed privilege, like this man, will have to contend with a bit more equality, and a more just system. The whole reform vs. status quo question is about allowing the privileged to continue to have an unfair advantage, over their darker skinned brothers. We may all be one people, but some are more equal than others.

He was elected. Don't you know that the prosecution, against him, was brought illegally, and based upon fabricated evidence, and testimony derived from torture, and blackmail using illegal surveillance. Even the judge, overseeing this case, has said all the evidence is fruit of the poisonous tree. Yet, because all Israeli judges are partisan, didn't toss the case out, as it would have been in a just country.
