Scott Manerez You've got that backwards, guns are flowing into Mexico from the US. Mexico has very strict gun laws. If the US got its gun problem under control, not only would lives be saved in the US, but in Mexico as well.

@JohnB3363 No lives are saved by guns in the hands of civilians. Stop making up lies, and take a look at the statistics.

@Mr.aAdDies It doesn't even need repealing. All that need happen is the Supreme Court reverse a stupid opinion. (That amendment didn't used to be construed as pertaining to the individual, but only the military.) But, with the way the court is packed, I don't count on it.

@phillippac.7469 You're leaving out the "in order to maintain a well regulated militia" part of the amendment. If you're not in the National Guard, you've no right to carry arms.

James Arnold What money from America? The only aid the US gives Israel has to be spent buying from US arms manufacturers. There are many countries that rely heavily on US or UN aid. Israel is not one of them.

When our house was broken into, when we lived in LA, the only thing the cops cared about was had guns been stolen. The police told us the main source of illegally owned weapons, were legal weapons stolen from the original owner. When a gun manufacturer came up with a fingerprint lock, like we have on cell phones, the NRA destroyed them. Yet, if all guns were required to have such locks, only the registered owner could use them. And why aren't gun owners required to keep their guns locked up, so nobody can steal them?

Perhaps the CDC is only speaking up now because, prior to March 2018, they were forbidden to even collect gun death statistics, because of the Dickey Amendment passed in 1996.

A better approach, a national law requiring a strict background check to purchase a firearm, and a national red flag law. It's funny that Canada has hunters, with plenty of guns, but very few gun shooting deaths. But then, because there are national laws, a violent person can't drive to a different province, to buy a weapon illegal in his own.
