  1. Geez, maybe if there were fewer guns on the street, and cops weren't so damned jumpy, they wouldn't feel the need to be "warriors" instead of protectors.

  2. European cops aren't shot and killed, at the rate US cops are. The answer is intelligent gun control.

  3.  First Last  If you knew how much more expensive it is to live in Portland, rather than the surrounding cities, you'd understand why. Not only have property values gone up, property taxes have gone up even more. Over a quarter of my income goes to property tax. If they want more cops to live in the city, they'll find different revenue sources then always raising the property tax. But, over half the people who live here are renters, so they don't care.
