  1. A decade or so ago, all the Democratic candidates seemed acceptable, but there were a few lunatics running as Republicans. So, I reregistered Republican for a few months, just to vote for the sane Republicans, in the primaries. Most states, that have not yet held their primaries this year, are more liberal New England states, and Louisiana has a jungle primary. But, this is a strategy we might keep in mind in 2024. If the Republicans seem too crazy, register as a Republican temporarily, and vote for the sane ones. Imagine Trump's apoplexy, if Cheney became the Republican presidential candidate.
