  1. From the list of things "off the table", it looks like the most effective ways, to protect people from being murdered, will not even be considered. I guess any restrictions are better than none, but why refuse to consider the best ideas.

  2. You've gotten it all backwards, and are confusing cause and effect. The reason certain places were made gun free zones, is that too many innocent people were being killed by guns there. And, if security is strict enough, it does work. How many people are killed in courthouses, now one has to pass through a gun detector? We've seen what happens, when a gunman attacks in a place with other armed people, even more innocents are killed in the crossfire.
