@anneb889 My daughter's pregnancy nearly killed her. She had gestational diabetes so bad she could not consume any carbs at all, and had to go on antidiabetic medication. She and her husband really wanted this baby, so she went through hell to have it. I love the little boy that resulted from this horrendous pregnancy, and am very glad he was born. But, I would never wish such health problems on any female that did not want a child. I can think of little more evil than forcing a woman to continue a sickening unwanted pregnancy because the male wanted the child. His life is not at risk. If he really wants a child so badly, he could adopt, or find a different mate. Only the female is risking her life and health in a pregnancy, so only the female should have any say about continuing or terminating it.

@God.sDaughter Contraception is not 100%, accidents happen. I've got a better plan, let every woman control her own body. If you don't like abortion, don't have one, but keep your nose out of other people's business.

@MikeOnTheHomestead Spoken like a man, who never has to worry about a pregnancy killing them or ruining their health. The biggest problem with this world is that there are too many humans living upon it. Why bring another one into it, when the host (woman) does not want to support the parasite.

@Tony-md7dk I've got a better one, since rape is a real prospect, have all males bank their sperm, then sterilize them. Then there will be no unintended pregnancies. I doubt any man would want someone telling they must do this with their bodies, but are willing to force women to risk their lives and health in unwanted pregnancies.

He's sticking to established precedent, stare decisis.

@Billy Cole II Look at the first amendment. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..". In other words, there is no state religion, and all are free to worship, or not, as they want. My religion allows abortion. If you legally tell me I cannot have an abortion, because of your religious beliefs, you are establishing your religion as superior to mine. And that is unconstitutional.
