@zeze7103 The US has never subsidized Israel. All "aid" must be spent on US weapons. All that money comes back to the US. And Israelis have to pay for their kupat cholim. What does healthcare have to do with anything?

Just like in the US, some Israelis are well off, many live in poverty. None of the money the US "gives" to Israel is spent on Israeli healthcare, social security or infrastructure. All of it must be spent on US weapons, so it all comes back to the US, to pay for jobs in the US.

@chrismartino3519 No, Israel does not donate to any campaigns, as that is against US campaign finance law. (Of course Obama had no problem with breaking Israeli campaign finance law, by illegally donating money to Netanyahu's opponents. But the US's crime is not Israel's.) You're confusing AIPAC, a US lobbying group, that receives money from US citizens, with Israel. If you don't like lobbying groups, see about changing campaign finance laws. But, don't claim Jews have no right to make political contributions, that is discriminatory, and disgusting.

@shaharsky Kupat Cholim have their advantages. But, when my fiance returned to Israel, he found the medications that control his heart problems aren't in any basket. He's actually paying more for being in Klalit than he did to have Providence insurance in the US, with the help of the ACA, and his meds are costing him more in Israel.

@rtorres4132 If you don't make a lot of money, the US government subsides your health insurance. She pays $90, because Uncle Sam covers the rest. Have you never heard of the ACA?

@timknepper1041 I was amazed by my daughter's benefits, when she worked part time for UPS. They put any benefits, that I received, as a salaried computer programmer, to shame. The Teamsters do take care of their members.

@margaretnicol3423 You ignorant racist. The water and power lines were destroyed by Hamas, with weapons from Iran, Qatar and Turkey. As to medication and food, Israel tried to bring those supplies to the people in Aza, and Hamas destroyed the aid trucks.

@rollingthunder1751 What you believe is incorrect. Israelis pay for their healthcare with a payroll deduction, just as US workers pay for healthcare insurance. There are four kupat cholim (HMOs) to choose from. If the US wanted to institute such a system, they could. It has nothing to do with money for weapons, mandated by a peace agreement.

If Israel was to the depose the despotic lead of the PA, which controls the Arab occupied parts of Yudea and Shomron, the world would dump all sorts of sanctions on them. It is not Israel's fault that any Arab government tends to be corrupt and undemocratic. And don't forget, many of the Arabs living in PA areas, were Jordanian citizens, until their passports were taken from them by the Jordanian army.
