  1. Have you forgotten the people's revolt in Belarus, last year? All the opposition leaders have been killed, jailed or forced to flee. There is nobody left to revolt. Helping Lyshenko destroy the opposition, using the Russian army, is probably why Putin did not invade Ukraine last year.

  2. Why do pundits pretend that heavy loss of civilians is a mistake, due to poorly guided systems? Putin is doing exactly what he and al Assad did in Syria. Attack civilians indiscriminately, to drive them out of the country. Then, when he takes Ukraine, he can repopulate it with his own people, as Syria has repopulated with Shi'ites. The hitch in his plan is, too many Ukrainians have stayed to fight for their country.
