  1. Today people don't realize how important it was that Bush had a black Sec. of State. Prior to Powell's appointment, the only cabinet position black people had filled was Sec. of HUD. .But Bush appointed first Powell, then Rice, to that most important cabinet position. That speaks well of the man. RIP
