Stop BSing. I don't remember grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, liquor stores, dispensaries or banks being closed, in the US. True, we couldn't eat out for a while, or buy luxury goods, but we always had access to what we needed.

@frankt9156 China did develop vaccines. But, they decided the western mRNA vaccines or vectored vaccines, would not be as good, as a more traditional attenuated vaccine. They ignored the fact such vaccines seldom evoke a strong adaptive immune response to respiratory viruses. So, their vaccines did not evoke a good immune response. They then tried different delivery systems, of those attenuated or killed vaccines, like a nasal mist. But, those too evoked a poor response. So, finally they have decided to develop mRNA vaccines, but are about two years behind the rest of the world.

@maitreya1906 It reminds me of medieval response to the plague. Board up the entrances to homes with infection, and let everyone within die of hunger and thirst.

Wouldn't it be amazing, if the brutal regimes in Iran and China, were overthrown by the people? Power to the people, in both countries.

@familyshare3724 Hardly, covid policy has to do with public health. But, China bet on the wrong horse, attenuated virus vaccines, and will not admit their science is inferiors to the west's.
